Pet Cancer Screening

Early cancer detection can significantly improve treatment options and outcomes for pets. At Animal Republic Veterinary Hospital and ER, we offer advanced cancer screening for dogs using modern diagnostic technology designed to detect cancer earlier, sometimes even before obvious symptoms develop.

Certain breeds and older dogs have a higher risk of developing cancer. Screening tests can help identify potential problems sooner, allowing veterinarians to investigate and begin treatment at an earlier stage.

One of the advanced tools we use is a blood-based cancer screening test that detects circulating tumor DNA associated with several types of cancer in dogs. This non-invasive test can be performed during a routine visit and may help identify cancer risk earlier than traditional diagnostic methods.

Cancer screening may be recommended for:

  • Senior dogs

  • Breeds with higher cancer risk

  • Dogs with unexplained weight loss or subtle clinical changes

  • Pets during routine wellness screening

If screening results indicate a possible concern, additional diagnostics such as imaging, cytology, or biopsy may be recommended to confirm the diagnosis.
